The Honorable Union Minster of State for External Affairs, General (Retd.) V.K. The award is an acknowledgement of Rakesh’s commitment and immense contributions towards building a strong national infrastructure of digital maps. Rakesh was selected from amongst the nominations of various luminaries of the industry whose contributions have impacted the lives of millions and are second to none. An eminent jury under the chairmanship of Dr. Sailesh Naik, Former Secretary, Ministry of Earth Sciences, Govt. of India, comprised of Ms. Bharti Sinha, Executive Director, AGI India and Lt Gen AKS Chandele (Retd.), President, Defence Security and Public Safety, Geospatial Media as members, had decided the awards. Other awardees included Chairman, ISRO, Shri A.S. Kiran Kumar.
