MapmyIndia releases most comprehensive maps of India

New Q2 2008 version to power in-car navigation, mobile phone navigation and leading mapping portals

New Delhi, April 2008: India’s leader in digital maps and GPS navigation, MapmyIndia today announced the release of Q2 2008 version maps, the most comprehensive and detailed maps of India. The latest version – the most thorough and updated – will include 150,000+ villages and towns of India – up from earlier release of 55,000 villages and towns; Connected by complete national and state highway network along with major district highways – district highways newly added); 172 cities at detailed street level (including localities, sub-localities, roads and by-lanes) – up from 18 cities; XXX cities with important landmarks – up from 150 cities; XXX lakh points of interest across 50+ categories – up from XXX. The new version will power the products and services of MapmyIndia’s navigation partners including internet mapping portals, handset manufacturers, mobile operators, personal navigation device brands, in-dash manufacturers and auto manufacturers.

  • 10 lakh+ points of interest across 50+ tourist and business categories
  • 3D terrain data for all India including 3D building data for major cities
