(more) Power to mobile apps

Much has happened since we last announced the launch of our mobile website and free Android app. We made apps for new platforms, updated the existing ones and in the process reached out to a whole new set of users out there. Here’s a quick rundown on what we have been doing –

• We fell in love with the Windows Phone. So we made an app for the new and gorgeous platform. Find places, get directions from your current location, search for places along a route and search nearby across a hundred categories. If you are on the move, the app will even tell you where you are real time. Get the app from the Windows Phone Store now!
• Windows 8 charmed us as well. The Metro UI deserved some love so we ended up making an app for Windows 8 users in India. All your favourite searches with full-screen maps make this app a must-have.
• We updated the Android app with a heavy dose of responsiveness as well. And it now comes with the “follow me” feature – the app catches up with your real time movement if you have allowed it to use your location. We really wish to make it impossible for you to get lost if you’re using MapmyIndia!

2013 will see a lot more exciting launches. Stay tuned!
