New Delhi, September 27, 2010: MapmyIndia today launched a Commonwealth Games 2010 website for Delhites and tourists alike that offers detailed maps and information related to the Games, like dedicated Games lanes, venue maps (both competitive and training venues), hotels (with addresses and phone numbers), schedule of events, ATMs, malls, restaurants, historical monuments, tourist attractions etc. MapmyIndia’s aim in launching the website is to enhance the Commonwealth Games experience of both Delhites and tourists. The special website acts like a City Guide and offers all information one might want while in Delhi during the Commonwealth Games.
Detailed maps of Games Lanes
With Delhi Police announcing strict action against violators of Games lane rules, MapmyIndia’s detailed maps of such lanes would be a big help. On the website the Games lanes are highlighted on detailed maps and are shown connecting various Games venues, as well as the CWG Village and Airport. Users have the option of viewing the Games lane connecting various venues.
Stadium maps with schedule of events
MapmyIndia has also created special maps showing location and routes to the various Commonwealth Games venues. The objective is to make these venues easy to locate and therefore more accessible. For the benefit of users, detailed schedule – with date, time and disciplines – of various games that will take place at each venue is also displayed.
The Delhi City Guide with maps
MapmyIndia’s special website is also a City Guide with details of ATMs, malls, restaurants, hotels, pubs, historical monuments, shopping venues, tourist attractions, golf courses and sightseeing options. All these are displayed prominently on detailed maps of Delhi along with brief descriptions, phone numbers, emails ids, website URLs etc. The City Guide is a truly convenient option for planning trips around the city or for locating the nearest ATM, hotel, historical monument etc.
According to Rakesh Verma, MD, MapmyIndia: “MapmyIndia is proud to be associated with Delhi Commonwealth Games 2010.
