Rakesh Kumar Verma, Co-Founder, Chairman & Managing Director, Total 49 years of experience and 26+ years with MapmyIndia. He co-founded our Company along with Rashmi Verma in 1995. He received his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (hons.) from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, in 1972 and his master’s degree of business administration from the Eastern Washington University, U.S.A, in 1979. He worked for 10 years in the U.S.A. from 1979-1989 in various organisations in their business functions and as faculty, including in EDS (General Motors). He is the FICCI National Committee Chair of Geospatial Technologies. He is also currently a member of the Department of Science and Technology’s Legal-sub Committee for the National Geospatial Policy. He has in the past served as a member of the Government of India’s Planning Commission’s National GIS Committee. He received the Geospatial Business Leader of the Year 2015 award from Geospatial Media Communications. He also received the BITS Pilani Distinguished Alumni Award in 2020 and was listed as top 50 alumni by BITSA in its 2017 book publication!.

Mrs. Rashmi Verma

Co-Founder, Executive Director, CTO & CHRO

Rashmi Verma, Co-Founder & CTO, Total 42 years of experience and 26+ years with MapmyIndia. Along with Rakesh Kumar Verma, she founded our Company in 1995. Rashmi, an alumnus of IIT Roorkee, India obtained a Bachelors of Chemical Engineering with Distinction in 1977 and an MS from Eastern Washington University, USA in 1979. She has significant experience as an entrepreneur in the fields of information technology, management, and the geospatial industry, and pioneered digital mapping in India. She has been instrumental in the growth of our Company, and continues to play an active leadership role, in driving our technology initiatives and human resource development. She is responsible for spearheading innovations in our Company across AI and geospatial technologies. She also oversees the core human resources functions of our Company, with a focus on employee up-skilling and career development. Leveraging her technical knowledge, she led MapmyIndia' pioneering and path breaking effort to create the foundation, framework and architecture for a robust and scalable model of digital mapping in India. Prior to founding our Company, she worked for several years in the U.S.A., including with the IBM Corporation till 1989. She was cited in the London Business School’s Professor John Mullin’s book ‘Customer Funded Business Model’ for the standardise-and-resell sustainable business model that she and Rakesh Kumar Verma applied for our Company. She received the distinguished alumnus award from IIT Roorkee in 2023.

Mr. Rohan Verma

Managing Director, Gtropy; Managing Director, Mappls DT & Non-Executive Director

Rohan is a passionate entrepreneur on a mission to make our world better through maps and location technologies. He has significant experience as an industry leader in the digital mapping, geospatial technologies and automotive mobility technologies sectors. In 2004 while still an undergraduate at Stanford University, the then 19 year old Rohan created India’s first interactive internet mapping portal, MapmyIndia.com. And on July 26, 2007 he joined the MapmyIndia board as a full time Director and thus began a period of high growth for the company and sustained value creation for the stakeholders. But his finest hour came in December 2021 when MapmyIndia was recognized as a ‘Unicorn’, post the company’s blockbuster IPO that was oversubscribed by more than 154 times and the stock listed with an opening day premium of 65% despite uncertain market conditions.
Rohan has had experience in geospatial industry at various stages of its evolution, he has focused on bringing significant benefits of maps and location technologies to individuals, businesses and governments. He has previously worked with leading technology and consulting giants like Microsoft Corporation in Washington, USA and with McKinsey & Co. and Intel Corporation in California, USA. This experience has proved invaluable in the discharge of his current responsibilities as CEO and Executive Director, at MapmyIndia, where he drives corporate strategy/growth, sales/marketing, product and technology/innovation. Rohan has global ambitions for MapmyIndia. And work has already begun in earnest to take company’s products and solutions global, under the brand ‘Mappls’.

A meritorious student, Rohan has been the recipient of the prestigious President’s Award for Academic Excellence at Stanford University, USA from where he pursued Electrical Engineering. Being a tech evangelist with rich entrepreneurial experience, Rohan is sought after by leading industry bodies and companies. He is a member of the CII National Committee on Space and represents MapmyIndia as a Founder Member in the Indian Space Association. Gino Kim, the President of APAC Business, has 26+ years of experience. He has been in the Telecom and Automotive industry for 26+years and has tremendous experience in product Planning and Business Strategy in the Automotive sector. With this Automotive Software and Global experience, Gino is responsible for MapmyIndia' global business expansion. He has a Bachelor of Business Administration from YONSEI University and a master of Policy Studies from KOREA University. He has worked with Hyundai/Kia and spent his time as the Head of Country for more than ten years in the USA and Europe.

Sapna Ahuja

President, Automotive Business

Sapna Ahuja, Chief Operating Officer, 17+ years with MapmyIndia. She holds a bachelor’s degree of science in computer science and master’s degree of science in applied operations research from the University of Delhi where she also received university medal for being the best student. She is directly responsible for strategic initiatives and for accelerating the growth of our Company’s Automotive and mobility business, in addition to her overall responsibility of Business Operations. She serves on the Road Safety Sub-Committee formed by FICCI and has been a frequent speaker in various conferences and industry events.

Mr. Vishal Anand

Chief Operating Officer - Mappls Geosystems  VIDTEQ

Vishal Anand is an accomplished professional serving as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Mappls Geosystems and will be spearheading Mappls Geosystem product & solution business in India and South Asia region. He is highly passionate about Geospatial technology and its potential to solve key challenges we are facing today in India through Digital transformation and has spearheaded the growth of GIS technology in India. He has a rich experience of more than 22+ years working with customers across various segments in National and local government. In his last assignment he was Senior Vice President & Head of Sales & Partner Business at Esri India, wherein he managed multiple assignments across functions such as Sales, Business Development, Partner Eco-system, General Management and Strategy while supporting many National Programmes. He has been closely involved, consulted and worked with customers on very successful large-scale, mission critical deployment of transformational GIS programs in a variety of areas such as State level GIS programs, National Mapping Organization, e-Governance, water resources, forestry, education, and map production. Vishal's educational background has played a pivotal role in his success as a business leader. He holds an MBA in Marketing Management and Information Technology, and has comprehensive knowledge in marketing strategies and leveraging technology for business operations. Additionally, he has a certificate in Disruptive Strategy from Harvard Business School, which has equipped him with innovative approaches and a deep understanding of navigating disruptive market dynamics. Moreover, Vishal's tenure at Oracle enriched his professional experience. Rakesh Kumar Verma, a first-generation entrepreneur, innovator, visionary and philanthropist, Co-Founded the Company in 1995 with Rashmi Verma with a vision to build India’s Digital Map at a time when nobody had ventured into this highly regulated space. His conviction that majority of any data will have a location component at some point of time to come is a reality today, and this Digital Map has become the backbone of the business of the Company. Recently, BITS Pilani an Institute of eminence has conferred on him the BITS Pilani RATNA AWARD - 2023 with the citation of “India’s original Digital Map Maker”.
Rakesh Verma has played a key role in working closely with the Government in its policy-making for the Geospatial Industry. As part of this, he has been a member of the Government of India’s Planning Commission’s National GIS Committee. Ankeet Bhat, Chief Business Officer - Enterprise Business, 11+ years with MapmyIndia. Ankeet drives the strategy of the core location platform products and its growth, sales management, company-wide marketing and international expansion. Nikhil Kumar

Nikhil Kumar, President-Geospatial Business, Total 27 years of experience and with MapmyIndia since July 2021. He is MS in Electronics from Kurushetra University. He has been in the Geospatial industry for the last 25+ years. He is directly responsible for strategic initiatives and for accelerating the growth of our Company’s geospatial products, solutions and services in India and abroad. He completed his masters of science in electronics with specialization in [VLSI] from the Kurukshetra University in 1995. He has been associated with the geospatial industry for a significant number of years.
